I think Askcity is a great idea, so lets get that out of the way. IAC does a great job of utilizing Citysearch, Ticketmaster, and it’s own Ask Search algorithm to come up with a webtool that out yahoos Yahoo and out google’s Google. Ask matches content and search to come up with a different user experience that very well could take over this over-large niche very soon. This is what Yahoo is attempting to do with their Wii portal page by mixing Flickr and Yahoo Answers (read Mashable’s post for more info). Google hasn’t really moved in the content path other than the Google Page Reader so I’m anxious to see their counter-deployment. So I would love to share my thoughts about Askcity…
However….

It doesn’t work with Firefox right now and that’s kind of a pain. I’ve tried to search businesses with Firefox 1.0.6 and for some reason the Search button doesn’t want to work. So alas my Askcity review will have to wait until tonight when I can get on my Mac and use my Safari Browser….though who knows if that’s going to work…
