You Send It - A Workaround for Emailing Large Attachments
Have you ever tried to send an email with an attachment that was larger than 6MB? Ever make the mistake of attaching that MP3 that was just a bit too big for Gmail while watching your browser crawl to a stop? Well finally after the upteenth time of forgetting about this limitation (while attempting to email some very incriminating pictures of my buddy to the rest of the gang) I said enough is enough. I decided to go Web 2.0 on this problem, and what I found was YouSendIt. YouSendIt basically allows you (without registering) to send any number of attachments of any size to anyone.
This is how it works:
1. you enter your email address
2. your friend’s email address
3. a short message that will be in the body of the email
4. and the attach file(s) you want to send
And then viola! YouSendIt will then send the email to your friend with a link attached to the file where your friend can download the aforementioned file. Your file will remain on the YouSendIt servers for 7 days so your buddy has ample time to download it. So go to, start sending those MP3’s, I’m personally going to see if I can find that picture of a certain someone streaking….
