Cork’d - Wine 2.0
After coming back from a trip to Napa Valley my interest in wine has once again increased. That said I went looking for a Web 2.0 website for Wine and I came upon Cork’d. Cork’d is a social networking Wine 2.0 type of website more in the model of an organized blog than a searchable database website. What I mean by this is that the website definitely feels like a blog in the way it appears and interacts rather than a formal website. Either way whether you are looking for a good wine to go with dinner or a big red Cork’d is a pretty good resource for user-generated wine reviews.
So now down to the nitty gritty why Cork’d is cool and what features it offers:
The Wine Reviews are very smartly organized by:
1. Kind of Wine: Reds, Whites, Sparking, Blush, Desserts.
2. Varietals: Pinot, Syrah, Zinfandel, etc…For those of us that have joined Cork’d this will allow you to do the following:
3. Region: California, Burgandy, Australia, etc…

Here are some of the Features that you get if if you sign up for a Cork’d account:
Wine Journal - This is so you can write reviews on wines and share them with everyone and add tags to wines, ie, dry, bold…
Wine Cellar - This is more for organizational purposes as it just allows you to add wines to your wine cellar that you own but have not tried. Basically a your Wine Inventory.
Shopping List - Just like how it sounds, bookmark wines and add them to your hit list of wines to try.
Social Networking - This allows you to add drinking buddies to your network. Probably the best thing about this feature is that it alerts you whenever a buddy of yours has reviewed a wine. For this alone signing up for Cork’d is worth it, plus it’s free to sign up.
