SimpleSeating - Restaurant Reservations 2.0

SimpleSeating LogoSo at first glance SimpleSeating.com can be seen as a but overdoing the whole web 2.0 thing. I mean do seating charts really need to be AJAX’ified? Well I’m happy to say that yes there is a need for Seating 2.0 and yes I’m going to give you a real world example on how I’m going to use SimpleSeating.

Quick note: SimpleSeating is basically a really drag and drop web app that allows you to create seating charts online. Here is a screenshot below.

Restaurant Reservations 2.0

Sometimes simple is best and in the case of SimpleSeating it might just work. An upgrade or feature that I think would really help launch widespread use of SimpleSeting is for them to figure out an easy way to do restaurant reservations. This is where I see this Web 2.0 app going, if they could give low tech users a very easy way to implement online restaurant reservations or concert seating that would be huge. Imagine if you could not only make a reservation for 2 at a restaurant, but pick the table by the window overlooking the ocean. You might just use SimpleSeating over Opentable next time you have to book a 1 year anniversary.
